Do you find that you have to regularly jump and roughhouse on your Tempurpedic Bed just to keep it soft?
i do. i have to to keep the fibers loose and broken down.
if i go away for a week, when i come back- it’s like laying on a slab at the morgue.
how long will it take before i have to stop doing it? i’ve had it for a year.

Tempurpedic beds are made to react to hot and cold temperatures, hence the name. (Tempur) If you leave your house for long periods of time and the house remains cold, the bed will react to the cold and get firm. Thats how tempurpedic’s memory foam material works. You will find that if you regularly sleep in it then it will react to your body temperature and start loosening up. This was all done on purpose because their research has found that when our body’s circulation is getting blocked in an area (the hip for example) the body will actually get hotter in that area (thats why our heads get hot when we have headaches). So the mattress gets softer to allow your body to sink down and remain in a neutral posture. So you can either keep your house warmer when you are gone, find a cover to trap in some heat, or sell it.
you need a partner to help keep it bouncy
No. Tempurpedic is foam and not fibre.

Your mattress is suppose to be firm, yet forming to your body and supporting you. If you’ve had it a year already and it’s not been broken down yet, then you have a good mattress. And I agree with the above answer also……it’s not made from fiber, it’s made from foam. It may take time to get use to it, but your back will thank you for it. You might look into buying a pillow top for it if it’s just too hard for you. That will give it enough softness without ruining the integrity of the mattress.
