How to make deep pocket sheets fit shallower mattresses?
I bought new sheets, but the fitted bottoms fit up to 15 inch mattresses and my mattress is 8 inches deep. How can I alter the new ones to fit?

Cutting length by sewing doesn’t work, because the alteration has to happen at the corners where the sheet needs to stretch most.
Try sheet straps – they’re about 5 bucks at stores like Bed Bath & Beyond:

You make your bed, and then clamp the straps under the corners of your bed to tighten your sheet. They even can be used to turn a normal sheet into a fitted sheet, so they definitely work for normal fitted sheets.
Good luck,
