How are orthopaedic mattresses better than ordinary mattresses?
I have tried both orthopaedic and normal mattresses and I find the orthopaedic are harder whereas the normal ones are easier to sink into and feel more comfortable. Although I think both give me the same quality of sleep. How exactly do ortopaedic mattresses benefit me over normal mattresses and do they work better for all people in general?
Hope someone can assist.

i have osteo-necrosis of both hips and i use a orthopaedic mattress! the ortho’s somehow keep you from sinking in deeper , so your body is less pain free in the morning or whenever you sleep! it’s not good for people who have bone problems to sink deep down! the bones of people suffering from osteo problems, must have their bones be steady and not move too much or else alot of pain after they rest! It’s, just better too hardle move, at all! I hope i explained how the body must not move around less, is better!! Hope this helps!!!!!
Before you buy anything, check out the memory foam mattresses. Some good brands are more affordable than the temperpedic you read about all the time. We have one made by the company called Cannon.
Variations of "pedic" mattress names are generally a marketing scheme to justify inflated pricing. Since everyone has different body weights, sleeping positions, neck-back-hip issues, and personal comfort preferences, only you can determine (through trial and error) which type of mattress configuration is the most comfortable.
Consider firm talalay latex with a wool fleece pad.
