It should not….but double check how long the warranty is…..it should cover the pillowtop too. But don’t forget to get a mattress cover! Most markings like stains etc void the warranty.
I have had a Sealy Posturepedic mattress for the past 20 odd years, it doesn’t have a pillow top, but I can see your dilemma. Isn’t it possible to have a separate (unattached) ‘pillow top’ that could be changed if and when necessary?
I would think you should be ok. these beds have a 10yr warenty on them, so you can be worry free on anything. the only thing they want you to do is rotate the matress. most beds nowadays are flip free. I would go for it. On a side not dont waist your $$ on the temperpedic bed though..garbage. I sat on one and it took a few second for me to settle in. once I was comfortable it was fine, but it was like sittng on brick. I did try the sleep # bed though in a hotel and found it very comfortable. its more $$ but remember we spend most of our time infront of the TV or in bed.
The sealy posturpedic mattresses are covered by a 10 year warranty. If the pillowtop should start to sag more than 1 3/4", it would be considered a warranty issue and your mattress would be replaced. It is considered a good thing for the mattress to develop a body impression, this just means that mattress is conforming to your body–much like when a ball player buys a new leather mitt…Also remember to purchase a mattress pad for your new bed as any stain on the mattress will void any manufacturers warranty.
the last mattress we bought was a pillow top, and for me I wouldn’t buy it again. Yes they do deform over time, they are thicker and some of our older expensive "charisma" sheets do not fit. I think next time I will just get a regular mattress and buy a separate un-featherbed for the top if it needs it.
Please look into the Simmons Beautyrest….They truly tend to hold up better than Sealy’s….I have owned both and by far I prefer the Simmons Beautyrest….I also worked in a furniture store which sold both and Simmons are more comfortable and they have the individually wrapped coils which decreases motion transfer…..Sealy doesnt offer this….Simmons will be alittle more expensive, but in the long run its a better mattress…..Hope this helps….
