I would go with the sleep number bed and if not that the Sealy Posturepedic. I have tried to temperpedic and they are hot and hard to turn your body once you sink down into them. They also have a much shorter life than the other two.
U have a sleep number bed and love it. I just purchased this bed in Nov. It does take a few night to get used to it, but this happens with all new beds So far the service has been great and I put my bed together my self, very easy
Allot of mattress buying, lot anything else, is opinion based. You need to determine which one feels better to you. Buying the right mattress is all about comfort. Body comfort and wallet comfort. All three of these company’s are going to tell you that they’re product is superior to the others.. but when you get down too it, you’ve mentioned three completely different things all together. Apples , oranges and bananas .
Temperpedic’s are memory foams beds. While people will tell you they are hot , this is based on several factors. Hot , in this case, doesn’t obviously mean creating heat.. it means not allowing air to flow properly underneath your sleep surface. I know that temperpedics are MOSTLY made of Closed cell memory foam. Some however are using open cell memory foam. The differences are mostly involved in air flow and how long the foam lasts. You CAN buy a Temperpedic that is not closed cell and thus is better meant for air flow and can keep you as cool as most normal "flat" beds. I will also say, Tempurpedic is not the only maker of memory foam beds on the market, perhaps if you’d like to look into a more affordable memory foam, you’d consider Sealy’s memory foam bed (the embody collection i believe), or Serta’s (Part of the Vera Wang line) or Sensa’s (Sensa Pedic). More affordable and most of these are better at air flow regulatation due to having that open cell technology i mentioned, while tempurpedic does have that in some models, it’s mostly in they’re higher dollar beds.
Sleep Number… Well, i can honestly say, although I’ve heard complaints and rave reviews i can say I’ve never sold them or dealt with them extensively. I have however had lines of other similar beds and like mentioned, I’ve had customers who had previously owned Sleep Number.
Basically, it boils down too, they are able to change firmness (too some degree) and they are a bit pricey (the starter models are more than your average Sealy Flat Bed) . Two recurring problems i hear is that A. They’re prone to warranty parts exchange (which , although inexpensive, leaves you without full use of your bed for a week or two) and B. The air bladders that they use to make the bed firmer or softer aren’t as good in the firm category due to rein-flatting and bladder leakage. However, they still allow you to have some choice as too what you can get for two people’s differing backs without having to buy a new bed constantly.
Sealy Posturepedic.. Where too start? Great company with a good (mostly) repuation. Your also talking about a company with a HUGE mattress line wherein there is 30-40 (or more) mattresses that are meant for different backs and budgets.
Here’s a tip. Narrow it down based on finance, and comfort til your sure you have a few models you’d like to look more into.. then go through review sites and talk with people who have owned these beds. Try to find ones who liked them AND ones who didn’t. Don’t let the salesman talk you into anything and make sure to shop around. This is a big purchase (you spend a 3rd of your life in bed) and it’s good to do your homework.
I’m currently an authorized Serta Dealer and i don’t sell any of these beds currently.. i have however owned and sold Tempurpedics and Sealy’s. I’m being impartial and trying to base this on facts, any questions, contact me. Be sure to check out my links in sources.
