I just got a Sealy Posturepedic Sterlingshire pillowtop mattress from Costco, is it supposed to hurt?
This is my first pillowtop and after sleeping in it for a few days I still wake up puffy-faced and stiff. Could it be the pillowtop? I feel like I sink quite a bit when I lie in it but the mattress under the pillowtop is supposed to be firm. I’m thinking about returning the mattress for the model without the pillowtop but I love that softness. However, I also need the support. Am I not giving it enough "break in" time? I’d really appreciate hearing others’ stories because it already took long enough for the mattress to get here, I hate to think I need to start all over again.

There is a period of adjustment whenever you get a new mattress or pillow but should be fine after a day or so. If it continues then it probably isn’t the best for you.
Everything from Costco hurts. Try Nordstroms.
most new beds need time to get use too…they always say sleep on it for two weeks until your body adjust to the new postiions
No, it’s not the pillowtop, it’s the firm mattress underneath it. That’s why you feel stiff.
Return it and buy a Select Comfort Sleep Number bed. It’s the best purchase we ever made toward making our marriage a success! He sleeps as hard as possible, and I sleep soft and nestly. Wonderful!

we bought a simmons beautyrest pillowtop from the vanderbilt collection and we cant get out of bed. wow what a mattress. It was four thou but we got it at half price at macys. It is the best we ever bought.
Costco is worthless. Not to mention they put substances mixed in with the cotton-like material in their products. Some people have found allergic reactions to their material. So believe it or not, you could be allergic. That would COMPLETELY explain the puffy-faced and stiffness. I would suggest you go get a soft body pillow and try it. I have one and it works amazingly! Trust me, I would know back problems because I’ve had 3 spinal injuries, a broken vertabre, and my hips are out of allignment. AND I’M ONLY 13!
But you should definitely send it back, get a cheap body pillow, and enjoy the comfort at night!
Hope I helped!
You should be achy for a few days until you get used to the new bed.
is it a feather pillowtop? you are allergic to the pillowtop. so even if you give it 2 weeks adjustment period to get used to the mattress, you will still be allergic.
return it. and i agree with the sleep number bed. i have one, and i have had on for about 6 years. LOVE it!
