Does anyone have this mattress?
My husband and I are shopping for a new mattress to improve our sleep, but we don’t want a memoryfoam. We also don’t want to go overboard on price. We found the Simmons Beautyrest Sinclair mattress with a 10 yr warrenty. Does anyone know anything about this mattress? Any other models we should consider?

I bought the equivalent of that model about 8 years ago. It was my second Beautyrest — the first one lasted me more than twenty years and was always really comfortable. In fact I gave the old one to my friend and she still uses it in her guest room. I only got the new one because I got a European style platform bed and wanted a thicker mattress. I really like Beautyrests (obviously) and what they say about them is true, they support you well, don’t sag and another person on the bed doesn’t disturb you when they move around. From a friend who worked in the bedding industry I learrned it is best to just buy one of the lower priced models — the thicker, more expensive beds really don’t give you any more comfort or durability. Any mattress should be replaced in 10 or 15 years just for sanitation reasons so longer warranties are pointless.
Whenever I’ve had houseguests and let them use my bed they often ask me what brand it is because they find it so comfortable. I think you’ll be happy with that choice.
The only drawback to Beautyrests I can think of is they are a pain in the @ss to move because they are like a big bag of jello and are really floppy. You need several people to move them.
Simmons is one of the most reputable brands.
Don’t get the Sleep Number beds. They are really nice at first but they don’t hold up very well at all and they have terrible after the sale service. They hang up on you if you even try to report a problem. Their credit plan is basically interest only and you will be paying for decades and end up paying more than quadruple the cost of the bed by the time you are done. And they are pricey to begin with. Boy did they see my husband coming! This is one of our biggest fights. He bought it just before we married and he still owes way over a grand—so much that he won’t even let me see the bill because he is so embarassed that he fell for thier tactics.. We have been married 4 years now.
Simmons Beautyrest is a very reputable company. My store doesn’t carry that particular model, but I googled it online. It looks like it’s part of their Classic series which is good.
All the Beautyrests have pocketed coils, each coil is wrapped in fabric and not linked together so each one is able to move independently. What this does is cuts down on motion transfer, so if one of you gets up in the middle of the night or tends to toss/turn it won’t disturb the other.
Their classic series also has a row of coils on the outer edge that’s made of a thicker gauge wire, so it adds edge support which maintains the shape of the mattress over the years and allows you to sleep closer to the edge without feeling like you’re about to roll off.
It looks like this one has memory foam, which is going to also help relieve pressure points and give it a more luxurious feel.
Simmons also comes with a full 10 year warranty (which you already know) which covers defects such as loud squeaking, if the material starts to come unraveled, if i coil were to pop out, if the foundation were to collapse, any sagging (1 1/2" or more).
Hope I’ve been able to answer some questions for you.
