I have a memory foam mattress, with 3x 2.5" 5lb memory foam toppers, of a different brand. I have a relatively extreme anatomy, 49 chest with a 36 waist. All ordinary matresses give me a morning backache. A waterbed worked well but I had to adjust water down to the pint. I need the extra deep memory foam to allow it to conture to my anatomy without bottoming out into the base layer of foam under the memory foam. It gives me very even support without pressurepoints and never a backache. I carry 5" of memory foam with me even camping for on top of the airmattress or on top of motel beds. I arrived at these combinations by trial and error.
The Select Comfort is great because you can adjust the firmness to suit your back’s different "moods".
What worked for me was a memory foam topper (about 2.5 to 3 inches) on top of a decent mattress/boxspring. The combination was wonderful. I bought the topper at Costco but it should be available elsewhere.
I bought my memory foam bed topper (3") from bed bath and beyond…and it’s GREAT!!!!
it costed a few hundred $$, it’s called therapedic…but definitely worth the money if you want to sleep and relax in comfort. it may cost ya a pretty penny but in the long run its’ worth it!
