How long should a mattress last?
I’ve had my mattress about 10 years. The last couple of mornings, I’ve been waking up with lower back pain, which is not normal for me. I flip it regularly, but I wonder if its just worn out. How do you know when it’s time to replace it?

It might not be your mattress that has changed. It might be you. As we age, we need different kinds and amounts of support for our backs. It is probably just time for you to try a new kind of mattress.
Usually a mattress’ life span is about 6 yrs. depends on the quality…could be longer. Any-hoo…time to get a new one. I bought a pillow-top and all my back-aches are gone.
It is depend on the type and the manufacture of the mattress. Generally taking all the manufactures, I think ten years is a good period to change your mattress. Most mattresses that were made back then not designed to last for 15 or 20 years. So, if you find that your mattress doesn’t work anymore for you, and then change it. Modern mattresses sometimes come with lifetime warranties. Lifetime warranty is 25 years….
Hope this will help.
