Would you take this mattress or leave it?
My son has outgrown his toddler bed & I bought the bed he’s been begging for, only to hit hard times financially & not have the money to buy him a decent (not fancy but not junk) mattress. My parents are offering me an *unused* Sealy Posturepedic for free… but it’s been sitting uncovered in a somewhat dusty, vacant bedroom now for over 5 years – a room where they keep caged lovebirds & budgies. I imagine most of the dust in the room is from these birds & I’m more grossed out than happy about taking the mattress (though my son desperately needs one). Am I just being stuck up, or is it right to decline? What would you do in this situation?

Need recommendation for buying FULL sized Mattress for 3 yr old?
We are planning to buy a FULL size mattress for our 3 year old. What should be the considerations in buying mattress for a 3 yr old kid? She loves jumping on the bed all the time
Should we go for Sealy Posturepedic or Simmon’s Beautyrest? The ranges are so large 300-1000 it’s hard to decide which one to buy. Please help with recommendations. We plan to use for a long time, so don’t mind spending a bit up front. Many thanks as usual.

Breaking in a Mattress?
I got a brand new Sealy Posturepedic mattress from Sleep Train. I think it’s called Highbridge, Highbrook, or something like that. Anyways they have a gracious return policy. I paid a pretty penny for it because it was comfortable and you get what you pay for.
Anyways onto the problem. I slept on it the first time last night and it felt great getting into bed. I woke up 8 hrs later and my lower back was a aching and my right side felt tender from sleeping on it. I had this issue sleeping on a firm mattress for 3 months (reason why I bought a soft/ new one). I can sleep in my guest room’s bed and wake up with no aches at all. The guest rooms bed maybe a tiny bit firmer than the new one.
Do I have to break the bed in? Is one nights sleep to quick to judge a new mattress? Will this minor ache go away once it broken in?
My plan is to sleep on it for a month and rotate the mattress mid way. But if a week goes by and the pain is worst i am returning it.

Questions about buying futon mattress or full size regular mattress for futon frame?
My dad is willing to give me a futon frame, however i dont want the matress with it (using it as bed frame).
I was wondering if it was a bad idea to use a regular full size mattress for the futon frame?
Also, wondering, if they sell futon mattresses
I’m looking for a mattress similar to "sealy posturepedic plush"
thanks

new mattress suggestions?
I stopped at Sleepy’s today and checked out some beds. I tried out the sealy posturepedic firm mattress, it felt really nice. It was on sale for 9 until Sunday. I also checked out cheaper memory foam mattresses, but I don’t think I like them. The problem with my current soft bed is that I can not lie on my side too comfortably, because the bed is what you call sags, making my body curve and fall on the back or stomach. What stores can I check out for cheaper mattresses for up to 0 + foundation?

Box spring Support (ikea bed frame)?
Hi,
I have a Sealy Posturepedic matress with a matching boxspring. I got it in August, but had them on the floor until 2 days ago when I finally got a frame for it. Until now I have had great sleep, but when I started sleeping on the mattress using the frame, I found my back hurting when I woke up the past 2 nights.
My new frame is from Ikea and I didn’t purchase the middle support that runs lengthwise from headboard to footboard or the wooden slats they sell when you are using their mattresses, as I was under the impression I did not require either of these since I have a box spring. My box spring is only supported on the left and right sides from headboard to footboard.
I’m wondering if my hurting back is caused by not having enough support in the middle of the boxspring? I noticed I sink down quite a bit on my mattress now, and I don’t think that happened when it was all on the floor. It may have..but I never noticed.
So basically…do you think that the frame is not giving enough support? Should I get that middle support? I’ve noticed on other frames there are middle supports but they go from side to side rather than top to bottom.
Thanks for any help/suggestions!

Is Raymour and Flanigan a reputable store?
I’m looking for a bed, and I walked into Raymour & Flanigan. The guy came down on price quickly, and I got "invited" to a "private" sale…
This is the bed http://www.raymourflanigan.com/catalog/details.asp?ID=11513#AboveTabs with a Sealy Posturepedic mattress.
It does seem like a really good deal for a bed I love (mattress + platform bed). Anything I should know or any horror stories? Is Raymour & Flanigan a good brand like Ethan Allen?

Why are my neck and shoulders still hurting after I replaced my mattresses?
1 week ago I replaced my queen bed because me and my wife started feeling neck and back pain, we bought a Sealy Posturepedic Ultra Plush Cal King from a liquidator warehouse for 0 new, the boxsprings are new but not originals, and were set them on the ground because they didnt fit on our old queen base.
Based on this information, should we get new pillows too because they are the culprits of our neck and shoulder pain, or is the mattress defective because we got it from a liquidator, or do we need a base for it? I’m thinking all we need are some good new pillows.

New mattress topper is not very comfortable?
I just bought a mattress topper off of qvc.com, it’s a sealy posturepedic topper. My very comfortable mattress right now is the same brand, but the mattress topper isn’t very comfortable when I put the topper on my bed to test it out. Of course, my mattress is only 3 1/2 years old and still in great shape. I’ll be using the mattress topper for my bed in my dorm this coming fall for school. Would I need to put it on a bed and wait a few days to see if it would be better? Or just return it and look for something different?

Which mattress? Stearns and Foster or Simmons? Thanks!?
Here’s the deal. I’m really active and I play tennis every day and golf alot, as well. I think the time has come for me to purchase a new mattress. I laid on 56 mattresses today (yes, I counted) and I narrowed my search to two.
One: Simmons World Class Plush Euro Pillowtop
Two: Stearns and Foster Plush Euro Pillowtop
The Stearns and Foster feels a little firmer and slightly less comfortable than the Simmons World Class. Right now I have a Sealy Posturepedic Plush (no pillowtop) which is about 5 years old. The Simmons is a little thicker, as well. However, Sealy makes Stearns and Foster and I’m happy with all the Sealys I have owned. I have never owned a Simmons and I don’t know much about them.
So if you have either, or even if it’s just the same make, let me know what you think about your mattress. They both MSRP for about 00-00, but they would do 9 on the Simmons and 9 on the Stearns and Foster.
THANKS IN ADVANCE AND SORRY IT’S SO LONG!
-Ethan
