How do you clean a mattress?

I am so worried about bed bugs these days and I would like to know how you clean your mattress? When I can the sheets weekly I spray frebreze on it. Any other suggestions?????
I am not going to buy a new one, I just bought it a year ago. My husband just sweats alot and I want it cleaned.

I’m thinking of buying a mattress set from Craigslist–but before I do, I want to know if there’s a way to thoroughly clean it, inexpensively. What needs to be done to keep from getting other people’s critters?

How do I clean a mattress when the weather outside is crummy?

My buddy lent me a mattress for a week before I get a real bed. I’d like to clean it because I know where it came from was a terribly messy place. What can I do? The weather outside is too wet to air it out, would febreeze work? What about for bed bugs? Thanks in advance

What is the best way to clean urine from a mattress?

My daughter’s best friend had a sleep over, a 6 yr old boy, and it appears he had an accident on the air mattress. It’s not a regular air mattress though, it is one of those big twin deluxe air mattresses from Wal-Mart with a somewhat fabric/velvet-like topping. Anyone know how to clean a cotton mattress?

We have a Simmons mattress. It is cotton. My son spilled some soda on it, and I thought I got it up well enough, but there is still a light brown stain on the mattress.

If anyone has any suggestions as to how I can get this stain up, I would greatly appreciate it!!

Can I clean a mattress outdoors?

I want to freshen my children’s mattress. I’ve cleaned it indoors using chemicals and clorox but it takes forever to dry and leaves a watermark stain.

I know this is “country”, but I had a notion that since we’re going through a drought season, I want to take it outside, douse it with cleaners and hose it down! I know it will take forever to dry, but time and sun will be on my side.

Any better suggestions?

How can I clean and fluff my heavy futon mattress?

My futon has a very heavy and thick mattress on it that cannot fit into a washer. Despite my regular flipping and rotating, over the last year it has flattened out so much that it’s more uncomfortable to sit on than a junior high school desk chair. It’s also been subjected to quite a few beverage spills, so it could use a thorough cleaning (yes, I already have a protective cover for it too).

It’s a stuffed mattress, so its pretty much just a bunch of fluffy material jammed into a cloth bag with a zipper. I’ve considered just emtpying it out and washing the mattress covers so they tighten up, then just try to cram all of the fluff back into them; however, I’m thinking that will just give me a big blob of fluff. Any tips?

How can I clean stains on a memory foam mattress?

my chihuahuas left some urine stains on my memory foam mattress. The mattress has a some kind of thin covering on it. Anyways i cleaned the dirty areas with oxy interior and well now it looks weird, the areas look lighter than the actual mattress color. I dont know but ive heard some people use urine gone and nature’s miracle with success. Any other recommendations?

My wonderful cat has urnitated on my memory foam mattress. Does anyone have a good method of cleaning these? No info came with the mattress for anything other than spot cleaning.
