Should I get a pillowtop mattress?

For the past 15 years that I’ve been married, we’ve always had a mattress on the cheaper side since we couldn’t really afford the decent ones. The mattresses never seem to last and my back is usually hurting in the mornings. Funny thing is we have one of those overstuffed cushy couches. If I sleep there I don’t have back problems. I’m thinking I need a pillowtop mattress. I tried out a few mattresses the other day and the most comfy was a Super Pillowtop by Simmons Beautyrest. We have always had either a full or a queen – I also think we need to go one step bigger to King size. What kind of mattress do you sleep on? I honestly haven’t had a true decent night’s sleep much at all.
Cottonlilly: I’m so glad to hear someone else is having similar issues like myself. So that Queensize bed – the double pillowtop your MIL bought is the one your husband likes to sleep on? My husband is 5’10 and about 225lbs I’m only 5’3 but I don’t feel like we have enough room on the bed – he always asks me to scoot over (go figure he’s almost twice MY size! Lol). Anyway, I think we’ll splurge a tad and get the Kingsize.

When buying a mattress?

I think I like Queen Simmons Beautyrest. I tried one at the store, and it felt right. I can’ remember the model name. It was a firm one which was fine. However, based on my research there are many many Queen Simmons Beautyrest that has different name after the make name. However, as long as I stay in the same price range with similar description for Queen Simmons Beautyrest, they all should be about the same?
Also, what was your experience with Queen Simmons Beautyrest if you had any or your opinion on this particular make. It has slightly more coils than Sealy of same size. I think the more coils it has the better the mattress is.

why do full size mattresses cost the same as queen size mattresses?

there seems to be only a difference between the price of full and queen mattresses. There maybe some conspiracy between the mattress makers and linen sellers. . .

How thick is the Sealy Posturepedic® Concierge Club Plush Mattress – Queen mattress?

Can someone help me find the thickness of this exact mattress? This is the one I am getting and I am trying to find sheets to fit it but only found one website:

http://www.bernieandphyls.com/870PK606EW-Sealy-Posturepedic-Concierge-Club-Ultra-Plush-Mattress–Queen.html

But I don’t even know what high and low profile mattress height means so I want to find a DIFFERENT site that will confirm this mattress size!

Thank you!!!
The best I’m getting is a tight top and not a pillowtop or eurotop. It is flatter than that and I’m hoping not that thick!!

Looking for Serta Perfect Sleeper queen size mattress only. Dog pee'd on it. Box spring OK.?

Current bed is comfort level 7 – Serta Perfect Sleeper Northstar queen bought several years ago at Sam’s Club. I love it. Need to replace mattress only…looked on-line everywhere, but Serta lists sold by sets only. Paid less than 0 for the whole set…

Is Tempurpedic a really good mattress to get or is there better for less?

We are getting a big tax refund. Was considering getting the tempurpedic since it seems so comfortable. But it’s about ,000 for a queen I think. Is there something better out there for cheaper?

How thick is a Standard Queen Mattress?

I need to buy a standard queen size mattress to fit a Murphy bed. I’ve been told that the extra-thick mattresses will not fit, but have no idea how thick a standard queen mattress is! I’ve seen just over 7 inches and up to 10 inches thick. How thick is a Standard Queen Mattress?
